What does BLIP 13 detect?
Any drone that transmits radio signals — FPV, commercial and specialized, fixed-wing or multirotor — through its control, video and telemetry links. It also detects relays, beacons and handheld radios.
Do I need to update a drone database?
No. In Drone Only mode BLIP 13 detects targets by their movement, not by signatures, so new and modified drones are detected without updates.
What is the detection range?
Up to 5 km with the Arrow directional antenna and up to 2 km with the omnidirectional whip. Range depends on the drone's transmitter power, terrain and line of sight.
Can BLIP 13 be detected?
No. In detection mode it is a passive receiver and emits nothing.
How does direction finding work?
With the Arrow directional antenna you turn the device: the bearing is where the signal amplitude peaks. The direction-finding sector is about 60°.
Does it work in cities?
Yes. The Smart Motion Filter ignores static emitters such as cell towers and Wi-Fi, and alerts only on sources that are approaching.
Does it detect frequency-hopping drones?
Yes — analog and digital links, including frequency hopping (FHSS). Turn on Signal Hold for sources that keep changing frequency.
Can it detect drones that transmit nothing?
No. BLIP 13 detects radio emissions. A drone with no radio link — for example, one controlled over a fiber-optic cable — cannot be detected by any passive RF detector.
Can BLIP 13 trigger other systems?
Yes. Four programmable TTL outputs (3 V, up to 25 mA) send a pulse on every new detection — to alarms, perimeter automation or EW systems. Use MOSFET switches or driver boards for power loads.
How long does the battery last?
Up to 8 hours of continuous operation. It charges over USB-C from a phone charger and runs from a power bank.
Is it weatherproof?
No — BLIP 13 has no moisture protection. Protect it from rain and moisture; a transport case is available.
How many targets can it track?
Up to 12 at the same time.
